Earlier this year, I sought to release my latest book, “Choosing Change.” It was determined that the book wasn’t ready to release and I sent the book back for another, more extensive edit. I taught from the book for a series of lessons and one of our classmates, Jackie Harden requested a copy. I wanted to be sure that she got a copy, but I told her that I was working hard to ensure that the book was up to the standard I try to hold myself to. She understood, and that was the last we spoke about it.
Jackie Harden passed away last week after a brief battle with illness. She was strong, and she was a fighter. She fought for as long as she could. When the Lord called her name, I’m sure she what we would think to be a bittersweet moment was joyous for her, with no pain or sorrow in accepting the Lord’s invitation to His eternal rest.
I thought to myself, “what can I do to honor Jackie?” I will be playing at the funeral service and will do my best to honor her life and show my appreciation for all she’s done for me over the years.
